Network vendor NETGEAR has announced a distribution agreement with Bordeaux-based 3D Storm, a high value-added distributor specialising in tools for live video production, streaming, video over IP, sports production and software-driven video production technology.

NETGEAR's Pro AV Switches, and in particular the AV Line M4300 and M4250 range, are helping to democratise video broadcasting over IP networks by simplifying the handling of this equipment, which has traditionally been reserved for IT specialists.

3D Storm provides professional solutions through a network of more than 200 specialised resellers and authorised integrators covering Europe, the Middle East and Africa. 3D Storm resellers are experts in content distribution, digital conversion and remote working technologies. They offer customers exclusive access to the latest and most innovative network video solutions on the market. 3D Storm is also the number one international distributor of NewTek products and the leading NDI specialist in EMEA.

Franck Lafage, manager of 3D Storm, said: "NETGEAR will help us to promote its solutions to our network of partners, and to train the service providers involved. NETGEAR will make available to partners, free of charge, the services of its Pro AV Design team, entirely dedicated to AV over IP projects. This team will be able to share its pre-sales advice and provide support during deployments for partners wishing to provide the best service to their customers."

3D Storm's technical and sales teams will promote NETGEAR's solutions to their network of resellers, who are convinced of the usefulness of NETGEAR switches and attracted by the support of NDI technology.

Indeed, NETGEAR and NDI, a brand of NewTek, a subsidiary of Vizrt Group, have worked together to provide a unique NDI configuration profile for NETGEAR M4250 Switches, so that NETGEAR Pro AV solutions, which already have an easy-to-use web interface, now have a pre-configured NDI profile for even greater ease. Used by hundreds of manufacturers worldwide, NDI technology is a royalty-free solution that enables broadcast-quality audio and video over the IP network. It eliminates the need for proprietary equipment, costly point-to-point connections, and painful infrastructure upgrades. With NDI and NETGEAR, content creators can be assured that they can easily share their best work with their now global audiences over IP networks. The unique features of NETGEAR Pro AV switches such as NETGEAR IGMP Plus, Auto-Trunk and Auto-LAG meet IT best practices so that NDI AV over IP deployments work with minimal configuration.

Laurent Masia, PLM Managed switches for NETGEAR, said: "I am incredibly excited about the reception of our Pro AV range by our peers, who confirm our work and our total commitment to the AV industry. Our years of expertise in the networking world allow us to offer reliable solutions that are incredibly easy to integrate for successful AV over IP deployments."
