For the first time, Swiss broadliner Alltron is offering a service from Amazon Web Services. For this, the Aargauer Disti is working together with the Zurich-based company copebit. Together, copebit and Alltron are launching the "Managed Cloud Storage and Archive (AWS S3)" service on the Alltron Service Marketplace.
The "Managed Cloud Storage and Archive (AWS S3)" service is provided and managed by the Zurich IT specialist copebit. The copebit team has several years of experience with the market leader Amazon Web Services and is a certified AWS Advanced Consulting Partner.
"In cooperation with Alltron, we can offer the Managed Cloud Storage and Archive Service based on AWS-S3 on the Alltron Service Marketplace. Alltron trading partners can thus access an easy-to-use and fully managed cloud storage and backup solution", says Marco Kündig, CTO of copebit AG.
The main advantage of the object storage AWS S3 is to store huge amounts of unstructured data such as emails, photos, videos, audio files, sensor data, etc. in a cost-effective way. On S3, they are easily accessible from anywhere, with high availability and low latency. Due to its diverse application possibilities, S3 is suitable for both small and large companies.
According to Kündig, S3 is practically considered an industry standard, which is why S3 works with many data backup and archiving systems. Perhaps of particular interest to Alltron partners: the cloud service can also be shared with NAS systems such as those from Synology - for example, to back up all the data from the NAS servers they manage for themselves or for their business end customers to the cloud once a day, or to store shared data simultaneously on the NAS server and on AWS S3 via cloud synchronisation.
"The AWS Backup service from copebit AG complements the ever-growing cloud services offering of the Alltron Service Marketplace and provides SME partners with the opportunity, their own portfolio", says Marco Iten, Head of Cloud & Services at Alltron AG.
