Broadliner Tech Data France has inked a partnership agreement with ATF Gaia, a company specialised in the re-use of IT equipment. Through this agreement, the TD Renew program, which has been in place for the recovery of end-of-life equipment, until now dedicated to smartphones and tablets, extends its recovery offer to servers, desktops (mainframes), monitors and laptops. In addition to reducing the environmental impact of digital technology, this agreement contributes to the sustainable employment of people with disabilities, as ATF Gaia is an adapted company.
The TD Renew portal allows customers to modernise ageing equipment while meeting current environmental requirements, regardless of the size of the company, the sector of activity or the volume of equipment to be taken back. The trade-in process is automated from start to finish: Evaluation of the value of the IT equipment to be collected and processed, trade-in price estimate. As soon as the estimate is validated, the collection of the equipment (in the resellers' premises or in the premises of the companies whose fleet needs to be renewed) is organised. Depending on their condition, the equipment is either reconditioned, recycled or destroyed in compliance with the requirements of the D3E regulations. The processing of equipment is carried out in compliance with the RGPD: anonymisation of equipment and deletion of personal data from hard drives.
"Through TD Renew, which is part of our commitment to contribute to the circular economy, our goal is to help our resellers to offer a complete offer of recovery and reuse of IT and telecom equipment", says Roza Lounis, in charge of the partnership with ATF Gaia at Tech Data France.
Thanks to the TD Renew portal available to Tech Data resellers, they can monitor all operations in real time:
control and management of the removals: statement of the serial numbers, type, model...
audits, technical assessments and reports: trade-in value, identified failures, data erasure certificate, number of reconditioned devices, destruction tracking, etc.
Environmental and social indicators are also available for extra-financial performance declarations: reuse rate, CO2 emissions avoided, litres of water saved, full-time equivalent of job creation for disabled people, etc. Carried out by an adapted company (69% of employees are disabled), this new service offered by Tech Data within the framework of the TD Renew program is deductible from AGEFIPH and FIPHFP contributions.
"This partnership with Tech Data will allow us to increase the number of materials to be processed for reconditioning, and consequently to increase our impact on both the societal and environmental levels", concludes Aurélie Pigeat, head of partner purchasing for ATF Gaia.
