Tech Data Announces Agreement with Cradlepoint Across Europe

Updated: May 3

Broadliner Tech Data had announced a pan-European agreement with Cradlepoint, the global leader in cloud-delivered long term evolution (LTE) and 5G wireless network edge solutions. Through this agreement, Tech Data partners across Europe can offer Cradlepoint’s wireless edge routers and its NetCloud Service—a subscription-based platform delivering cloud-based monitoring, management, security and analytics.

The addition of Cradlepoint enables Tech Data partners to access and implement next generation wireless WAN connectivity solutions for fixed space retail, warehouses and logistics, digital signage, surveillance, guest wireless, LTE failover, public transportation and smart cities, among other areas.

According to IDC, the global market valuation for LTE and 5G infrastructure is expected to exceed €4.7 billion by 2024 with a 5-year compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 43.4%. Tech Data is building a portfolio of outcome-focused branch, edge and mobility solutions to help partners address this rapidly evolving market, supported by the distributor’s business enablement programs, in-house technical expertise and as-a-service offerings.

Stephen Nolan, senior VP Endpoint Solutions Europe at Tech Data, said: “5G technology is a key enabler for bringing a new wave of truly differentiated innovation to the world and as such represents a significant opportunity for our IT ecosystem partners. In this context, Cradlepoint is a great addition to our vendor portfolio. Their 4G LTE and 5G portfolio enables enterprises to deploy reliable, efficient and enterprise grade cellular wireless connectivity and we are looking forward to extending their reach in the region.

Eric Purcell, Senior Vice President, Global Partner Sales at Cradlepoint, said: “Demand for Wireless WAN is accelerating in Europe and across the globe as business increasingly turn to 4G and 5G cellular networks for wireless connectivity. Our new agreement with Tech Data comes at the perfect time to capitalize on this opportunity and equip resellers, partners and system integrators with the products and services they need to give enterprises of all size access to reliable, scalable, and secure cellular connectivity.”

Cradlepoint was acquired by Ericsson in November 2020 and operates as a standalone business unit under its own brand.

As a previous agreement covering Ireland and the United Kingdom was signed separately in December, the new agreement covers Austria, Belgium, Czechia, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland.
