Security VAD Westcon Security has signed a worldwide distribution agreement with CyberX, the IoT security company. This agreement allows the distributor to further strengthen its Next Generation Solutions (NGS) offering, by adding CyberX’s award winning innovative IoT/OT cybersecurity platform.

As organisations connect massive numbers of IoT/OT devices to their networks to optimise operations and implement Smart Building and Industry 4.0 initiatives, boards and management teams are becoming increasingly concerned about the expanding attack surface and corporate liability they represent.

Because these connected devices can’t easily be protected by agent-based technologies, and are often unpatched or misconfigured, they can be compromised by adversaries who pivot deeper into corporate networks to threaten safety, steal intellectual property and customer data, conduct ransomware attacks, and siphon resources for DDoS botnets and crypto-jacking.

CyberX’s agentless IoT/OT security platform is easy to deploy and provides real-time visibility into all unmanaged devices within minutes of being connected to the network. Leveraging the industry’s only patented, M2M-aware behavioural analytics – eliminating the need to configure any rules or signatures – the CyberX platform continuously discovers IoT/OT assets, identifies risks and vulnerabilities, and monitors network traffic for any anomalous or unauthorised activities, without impacting performance.

Daniel Hurel, Vice President EMEA, Cyber Security and Next Gen Solutions, Westcon, said: “this worldwide distribution agreement with CyberX will play an important role in helping our partners to bolster their customers’ IoT/OT security across the globe, enabling them to support their customers and positioning themselves as ‘ahead of the curve’ on new threats. The number of attacks on industrial IoT systems has increased significantly over the last few years, resulting in both financial and reputational loss for medium to large organisations globally.

Hurel continued: “there is an important need to improve protection of these environments, and we believe that this agreement will go a long way to achieving our goal. Using the considerable expertise that Westcon has in the area of NGS, we believe that this agreement will be highly beneficial for both parties involved.

Buck Watia, Vice President of Alliances & Business Development, CyberX, said: “we are excited to be signing this worldwide distribution agreement with Westcon and being a selected vendor for Westcon’s Next Generation Solutions Initiative. As the market leader in IoT and industrial cyber security, we believe this partnership will enable us to help even more global enterprises secure the critical networks upon which we all depend for access to energy, food, pharmaceuticals, finance, healthcare, retail, transportation and logistics, chemicals, and a range of other manufactured goods and services.

CyberX solutions are available through Westcon Security offices in Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Italy, Middle East, the Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and the United Kingdom.
