Tech Data Signs With Quest Software

December 19, 2018

The Advanced Solutions division of broadliner Tech Data has extended its data protection offer in the broadest sense through the addition of Quest Software.

The offer is mainly divided into two families of solutions:

  • Data Protection, which works to ensure data integrity, and Information Management, which optimises database management. Data Protection solutions are used on applications and data in all types of environments, whether physical, virtual or cloud.  This portfolio includes scalable backup solutions that provide cross-platform data protection and integrates new Software Defined Secondary Storage (SDSS) technologies.

  • Information Management solutions automate routine tasks, provide quality data, standardise database performance monitoring, generate greater data availability and increase agility. Compatible with Oracle, SQL Server, DB2, SAP, MySQL, Postgres and other relational and non-relational platforms such as Hadoop, MongoDB and Cloudera, Quest database management solutions are suitable for most environments.

More broadly, Quest solutions aim to maximise the value of hybrid IT environments while reducing the risk of business interruption caused by cyber attacks and system failures; monitoring is an integral part of the publisher's portfolio.

Frédéric Braut, Deputy Managing Director of Tech Data Advanced Solutions, commented: "Tech Data, which brings a one-to-one hybrid offer to the market through its alliances, is delighted to complete this value proposition with Quest's Data Protection and Information Management solution portfolio. This new partnership appears to be the necessary and essential building block for data backup and multi-environment database management."

Kathleen Owens, President & General Manager Quest Information Management, said: "Tech Data's expertise, network and reputation, combined with Quest's forward-looking software solutions, will provide their partners and customers with the appropriate tools and support for their current and future projects."
